Bear Bones Radio, Newcastle’s first local, independent internet radio station, was officially launched with an event at the Star and Shadow cinema on Sunday 8th October 2006. It’s first show broadcast the following day and featured The Horse Loom. Live shows with local guest musicians remained a regular feature of Monday evenings until 18th June 2007 when, abruptly, it’s final show was broadcast.
During this period bands, DJs and solo artists from the North East and further afield graced the Bear Bones studio to record exclusive live sets. Hear the complete archive of recordings collected from these performances, a select few of which never made it to the Bear Bones site, right here.
